Howdy, and my apologies for such a late post! Before sundown I had “before sundown” stuff to do, then after sundown I had “after sundown” stuff to do. But, here’s the Friday Night Greetings video, hopefully better late than never! After a bit of whining, the video (hopefully) gets into more worthwhile thoughts.
ALSO, below, I have embedded two additional videos, both from our wonderful staff at Headquarters in Charlotte. These are the experimental first couple of video shorts of their kind for us. You’ve already seen some of the Tomorrow’s World shorts, because I embedded the first two of those a few weeks back. (If you haven’t seen them, you can click here.) These are different, in that they are not derived from content taped on the program. They are completely original. The first is a thoughtful short featuring professional narration and related images. The second is just an attention getting animation that will hopefully instill some curiosity. Both are formatted to be short so that they are easily shared on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter and are already seeing a lot us views in their short little lives! Really, the potential for these sorts of things is AMAZING, and your prayers that we can create and use such tools as God is bringing to us would be appreciated.
And in other news of the Work, we had a wonderful Council of Elders teleconference this past week, and a wonderful door that God has opened was mentioned. An opportunity came to us to go on television throughout the entire continent of South America in Spanish — something we have never done before. We’ve been on radio, thanks to many faithful members there, but not television. However, the day the opportunity was brought to us, the price tag was also brought to us: $36,000. That just wasn’t in the budget. HOWEVER, that very same day, an unrelated and very unexpected huge, single donation came in out of nowhere for $40,000! It couldn’t have been timed more perfectly! Hearing the story during the Council of Elders meeting, it seemed that all of us were very excited and moved by what God had clearly done — especially in the context of the amazing doors He has only recently opened up for the entire expanse of Russia and all of Europe. It reminded me of the tales Mr. Armstrong used to tell of needing the money to pay a radio station and not having it as the moment arrived, and then WHAM, there it was, covering the airtime in full! What a blessing.
